The Pizza is delicious but if you're wanting Spaghetti with meat sauce, there is never more than a tablespoon of beef in the sauce. So disappointing. The salad is bare bones, I can handle that too but the Spaghetti sauce is pitiful
Met some friends for an early dinner last Sunday at Vince's. My first time there. I've driven by the restaurant over the years, and have wanted to try it for a while. I have hunted for a good family style Italian restaurant in the Seattle area like the ones I grew up eating at in NYC. My search continues.... The Pros: -The restaurant has several small dining areas within the restaurant, so you can have a group dinner with some privacy. -The Service was very good., and they take reservations. (Hence I added one star) - Restrooms were clean and tidy -plenty of parking is available. - I made a 5:30pm reservation and we were seated right away. -One of my dining mates ordered a sausage and cheese pizza and it looked really good. My other friend ordered a spaghetti with mussels (a Vongoles o Cozze). They both enjoyed their meals. - the house salads were good and ingredients were fresh -lots of choices on the menu. The cons: -The restaurant got really noisy as the other diners started arriving... It is a family restaurants so young children were present, which is okay, as long as the parents remove screaming children from the dining room until they calm down. -I ordered the eggplant parmigiana ($12.99) with a side of pasta ($1.49). There were 3 small pieces of eggplant, and a decent portion of penne, but it was drenched in sauce that was quite salty . The taste was disappointing. Nothing to write home about! I may give this restaurant another try, but I will probably order a pizza. Tip: buy 3 pizzas and get the 4th one Free
This place has a very Italian feel to it. The food is authentic. The first time I went here was at night on the bar side of the restaurant and they had karaoke playing. I had a bite of their pizza and thought it was yummy. The second time, I came during dinner, on the restaurant side. They start you off with bread, butter and some stick crackers and the entrees came with soup or salad. We ordered the Caesar salad. It was ok. The main course took a while to come out. Their pastas were good though! We ordered the Fettuccine Alla Casa and Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. Both really delicious, but the carbonara had way too much pepper for my liking. For dessert we got the Mocha Decadence Cake (good) and Cannoli (ehh).
I dined at Vince's in the Renton highlands for the first time on 03/19/2017. Decided to come here after passing by it so many times to celebrate one of my twin sister's birthday. I've been once several years when I was in elementary at their original location (I think? Could be totally wrong on that) off of Rainier (that closed down awhile ago though) but I don't remember much. All I remember is that I ate pizza and my friend got yelled at by her Dad because she was being a little brat, haha! It was a pretty busy Sunday evening when I came. I had a party of 3 and we were seated quickly. I loved the feel of the place. Although I've never been to Italy (I hope to one day) I imagine this is what restaurants over there would be like. Nice music, friendly staff, and good food! I love going out to dinner with more people because that only means more food! For dinner we had: 1) Sautéed mushrooms in olive oil, garlic, and spices. I love mushrooms and I wish I could cook them like this. They were cooked perfectly with great flavor and not too greasy. 2) Clams sautéed in garlic, olive oil, and spices. I love love love clams and I feel you can't really mess them up when you use garlic and olive oil. They were a little small but they were delicious. 3) Spaghetti Alla Carbonara - fresh cream, bacon, parmesan, egg yolk and heavy black pepper. This was my first time having this pasta. When I saw egg yolk I said YES, I'm getting this one. What is better than a big ole plate of creamy noodles?! I prefer white sauce over red but sometimes half and half is good too! This pasta was great and not too rich. The only thing I'll do different next time is add chicken. 4) Tortellini Alla Panna - meat filled pasta and sautéed broccoli in a rich cream sauce. My oldest sister ordered this dish. I almost never order tortellini at Italian restaurants and I couldn't tell you why. Its just never appealing to me but this dish was good. The meat didn't have a mushy fake meat taste I feel a lot of tortellinis do. The sauce was good but it was your basic creamy Alfredo like dish. 5) Pasta E Fagioli Con Cozze - Orecchiette and Italian Butter Beans in a thick broth with mussels. The birthday girl ordered this dish. Out of the three pasta dishes this was my least favorite only because it tasted weird. It tasted like plastic to me and my sister agreed. I don't know, that's the best I can do explaining the flavor. You would have a hint of plastic flavor at the end of your bite. My sister said the mussels were very good though, and fresh. 6) Tiramisu mousse - Vince's take on your traditional Tiramisu! Birthday girl ordered this for her dessert. I usually don't like Tiramisu because I'm not a fan of the soggy component of it but this was a nice and different way to enjoy it because I do love the flavors of this dessert. 7) Profittaroli- homemade cream puffs with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. I went with this for my dessert. It was something simple but good! I prefer my desserts to be on the less sweeter side and this was perf. Just a light cream puff with some cream and chocolate sauce. I definitely recommend this spot for some good Italian food. I ask myself again why it took me so long to come when I see it all the time. Well now that I know how good it is, I'll be back soon for sure!
Vince's is a hometown restaurant that would have fit right in to the 1970s. Old time decor completed with checked table cloths. Upon seating you are offered small plastic wrapped bread sticks and butter. The entrees are entirely typical of family run restaurants of this sort. Pastas with marinara based sauces, cream and cheese sauces, and meat sauces. Nothing on the menu would have been out of place decades ago. But for reliable, well prepared, traditional Italian-American dishes this isn't a bad choice. Dinner was accompanied by a partial loaf of very undistinguished white bread. I had a gnocchi in a "light tomato sauce" with fresh basil and mozzarella. The gnocchi were tender and delicious, the mozzarella pleasant, the basil fresh and aromatic. The problem was with the tomato sauce which completely dominated the dish with bland tomatoness. The sauce was very one more with few herbal flavors. While it was better than Boyardee, the general flavor was similar. My dinner companion had the meat filled tortolini and noted that while the parts was tasty, the sauce was undistinguished. Although we were promptly seated, our waitress was absent for long periods, especially at the end of the meal when we had a particularly long wait for her to reappear. She was very pleasant, but perhaps distracted. So, is this a bad restaurant? No! If you are looking for a reliable, though uninspired, mid-century Italian-American restaurant you will be happy. If you are looking for gourmet or cutting edge cooking and presentation stay away. For what it is, this is a good value and a perfect place to take Grandma.
Super short handed at 3pm so with one person at the end of the shift it was hard to keep up with good service. Arugula salad was flavorless while the sauteed mushroom was oily. The wine was not very good either
Karaoke Friday night. Kitchen open till 11. Love chicken Marsala here.
I couldn't say our group of 12 was overly impressed. While the food was good enough for team lunch, I wouldn't be satisfied with it as a dinner choice. We were able to order through doordash.com which was very convenient, but the restaurant sent 2 Cesar salad's instead of 1 Cesar and 1 Chef Salad, needless to say the person who ordered the Chef Salad was disappointed having a plain Cesar. They may be new to the delivery concept, but the lunches were mainly unlabeled so I had to open all the sandwiches to find out what they were and the ones that were labeled were 50% wrong. All in all, it won't be on our list for future lunches simply due to the hassle of organizing lunches and the missing items.
So as I said in my previous review "I'll be back." I did again return, but Now I won't. Polar opposite experience from our first time. My wife and I left feeling like we had salted bowling balls in our stomachs and left our leftover uneaten food and our unsipped wine at the table. I give it now a 2 star rating based on the following things and only such due to a great first dinner; - Minestrone soup - excellent - Antipasto salad (small) - quarters of sandwich cheese and full slices of Safeway style salami. Incredibly salty and hard to eat, I had to tear the cheese and salami so it was edible via fork. Can I say salty? Can you add salt to vinaigrette? - Sautéed mushrooms - pretty good if they weren't drenched in huge flakes and chunks of salt. Can I say salty? - Saute Di Vongole - clams this time. Not a single piece of bread was used to mop up or taste the broth which is the typical method of consuming this dish. Mini-clams. Can I say salty? - Alla Parmigiana - decent penne pasta, but at this point my stomach was extended due to giant salt intake. Chicken at first was great, then the salt hit again on the chicken, went unfinished. Can I say salty? - Wine. Who would know? We left our full wine glasses at the table. I think this restaurant chain does catering in a off-site facility and brings the food in at various times. When the food is getting stale from sitting, I think they nuke it with salt. Our first time success was a fluke.
I looove this restaurant. Best authentic Italian restaurant in Washington!! I request Connie because she's so efficient and friendly. She's very great at small talk too. My favorite dish is the Pollo Marsala. Get that extra sauce and some extra bread at no cost! I just wish they had one on Capitol Hill.
"Best Italian Restaurant" according to King5's 'Best of Western Washington'...I honestly don't know how it was deemed the best as it was nothing but mediocre. We went out on a Saturday evening, we had just missed the crowd as it was beginning to empty out from the dinner rush. The decor is nothing special. Plastic table covers that reminded me of a summer picnic...think Olive Garden meets Buca di Beppo. We were the only table in an entire section of the restaurant so you would think the service would be amazing. It wasn't. We saw our server every 20-30 minutes. They have butter and breadstick crackers on the table to snack on, so assuming this restaurant didn't serve bread or rolls to start we ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer. Don't do it. I don't know how one messes up on garlic bread but you are better off picking up pre-made garlic bread from Safeway. Once our server returned with our bottle of wine, we ordered our entrees which came with a choice of soup or salad. That was nice, as it was brought out before our entree so we had something to snack on while we waited for our meals. Once we were finished with this pre-dinner salad that comes with the entree, our server asked if we wanted dessert. We hadn't yet received our entrees so we had to remind her that we hadn't had dinner. She obviously forgot our order. 35 minutes later our entrees and a basket of bread arrived to the table. If you're going to serve a bread basket maybe do it right at the beginning, super awkward timing. My boyfriend ordered the eggplant parmigiana and I ordered the chicken rosmarino. His was super yummy! Really cheesy and a lot of great flavor. Best thing we had. Mine however was nothing special. I really didn't like how the garlic served with the chicken wasn't cooked or roasted. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like eating huge chunks of crunchy raw garlic. We then waited another 30 minutes for our server to not only check on us but we just handed her our card to get out of there. Very disappointing.
do not order the egg parmesan! gross
We recently had a Baby Shower at Vince's Renton. Excellent food and great customer service from booking event down to the excellent service given by our server Lindsey! The menu included ravioli, spaghetti with meat sauce and of coarse Vince's yummy Pizza! This is a great place to enjoy family and friends with the bonus of an excellent authentic Italian meal. I would recommend Vince's to anyone! Thank you Vince's for making my daughters Baby Shower extra special! Again my compliments to our server Lindsey!
"Prices subject to change without notice"? Are they hurting for business that much? Absolutely ridiculous. A LUNCH portioned Chicken Cesar salad was 12.50.
Pizza! Buy 3 get 4th free!
One of my all time favorite restaurants. Delicious food, excellent customer service! Pizza is the best around!
This is a little hole in the wall behind jack in the Box in the Renton. We have visited this place a few times and have never been disappointed with the food. It is nothing complicated but it has great flavor. You will have to add a little salt and pepper if you like over seasoned food. I like my italian food with lots of parm cheese. I have had the pollo saltimbuca and the pollo marsala the last few times. My wife enjoys Gnocci with the pesto cream sauce and the spaghetti carbonera. We usually sit in the bar and the ladies in there attend to your every need. Drinks, appie's, entree's, and dessert's are delivered quickly and with a smile. If you have a hankering for some authentic southern italian food then Vince's is the place. Try their fresh baked bread with melted butter!! WOW. Loved it. Had my first cannoli. Its pretty good! Who new cheese was a good dessert!
We absolutely LOVE Vince's, everybody's always happy when we get there and happier when we step out! This isn't your lovely food-service restaurant, all of the food and herbs are fresh and their buyers sure know what they're doing. I adore the Eggplant Parmigiana but the Chicken Marsala is so amazingly awesome that I kind of ignore the eggplant, saying "I'll order that next time." Great wine list, the pizza is to die for, everybody's happy!
