This place was awesome the food was some of the best we have had. Authentic family restaurant
Food is good.
Good dinner after a long hike in the redwoods. Plenty of vegetarian options.
Great food. Very nice staff.
I think this is an amazing place. There can be a wait for your food because there are limited cooking facilities. It's worth it ! The chicken enchilada with Mole sauce was excellent as was the el Patron Torta and the Huarache supreme was just that. We'd be back regularly if we didn't live in Ohio. After eating out in Crescent City for several nights this was the best ! - As long as you like Mexican that is.
Easy to drive by, this was a great stop for Mexican lunch. I had the chicken mole special, and man... was it good! I'm so very glad I didn't miss out on this hidden gem in Crescent City!!!
Chicken mole was excellent, the loaded nachos has lots of meat and guac. The corn tortillas were fresh and super tasty.
The food and quality was great! The spices were awesome! I got the Huarache Supreme with Chile Verde!
Large menu, good prices, good food. Right on 101, friendly service, great salsa. We've stopped in a few times, the shredded beef crispy tacos and the chicken burrito are both very good. The carne asada fries with cheese and guacamole is awesome! It's a full plate of goodness and would be a good family appetizer for 4 adults, it's under $8. Quick, filling, inexpensive, a solid find in Crescent City.
Suprisingly delicious! We pulled up at 3pm with no cars in the lot- never a good omen- but very authentic Mexican We had the Veggie Huarache Supreme- just the right mixture of veggies & delicious grilled corn tortilla We also had amazing Enchilada Mole- soooo flavorful
The burrito is dankkk.
This unassuming establishment produced the best Mexican food I've had in awhile (which surprises me, since I think we have some great restaurants at home). It is clear that it is a favorite of many...the place was busy the whole time we were there with most tables having customers and locals picking up their to-go orders. The chips don't appear to made fresh (but they might be); however the salsa seems homemade and the dishes are flavorful and delicious. Their chili relleno was the best I've ever had. They offer a kids plate with small portions that include beans and rice. It seemed the perfect amount for our 4 year old. They had a sizable beer selection and homemade horchata. Fantastic place to eat. You should try it out.
The place was packed on a Saturday night but we (three of us) were seated within ten minutes. It was well worth the short wait. You can tell right away that this is a place that locals like, not just visitors (we were visiting from out of town). Mole Burrito - absolutely wonderful and HUGE. Beautifully presented Chicken Mole - Large serving of chicken in the most wonderful spicy and rich mole. OMG it is good. Tamale and Chili Relleno - good, basic, tasty. Nice chunks of meat in the tamale. Chili Relleno could have had a bit more cheese in it but the flavor was on target. Horchata (just right, not too sweet, some of the best my teen has had) Price: affordable Staff: Wonderful warm and friendly. Perita's is basic. It isn't fancy. It is GOOD.
We were visiting here to tour the redwood forest. Since we were not familiar with the area we looked up Yelp and thanks to the other reviewers we were not disappointed. One of the best Mexican places I have eaten in a while and I am quite the food snob...Luv this place...the food and the service was outstanding. I had the veggie taco supreme and fish taco both of which were fabulous. We also had the churro for desert this just ok...but overall 5 stars for good food and service....[Full review]
We were only in town for one night and we stopped here because of the good reviews- so glad we did. We came in on a Wednesday night and it was pretty crowded for the time (5:45pm). We were seated and given chips and salsa right away, the servers were all SO nice and attentive. Our food came out quick and it was delicious. My mom and I both had a fish taco and split a sopa with chicken. Everything tasted straightforward, authentic, and fresh- the fish tacos especially. My mom had the homemade horchata and she said it was delicious as well. By the time we left the place was getting pretty packed. We walked and went to the store and on the way back to our hotel we passed by Perlitas again to see a long line out the door-- and rightfully so. Definitely a must try while in Crescent City.
were people paid to give it 5 stars? Or have they never had good Mexican ? We found all the meat awful and super under seasoned. Beans and rice I make better at home and I'm a white country girl. The steak was tuff the ground beef was gross and grisly. The only decent thing was the fish tacos. The salsa was thin and not spicy at all.
We were in Cresent city in a drive to Anaheim from Seattle and I was excited for mexican food! The kids had a burrito and taco and my husband and I shared carne asada fries. I would have preferred the fries more crispy but it was still delish! Good food for great prices.
We had the Carne Asada fries to start - actually pretty good french fries. Chicken Mole (my dish) was very tasty - as others have described. My wife had the Tacos and also enjoyed her meal. Great little family restaurant vibe.
Was told Las Perlitas has good authentic Mexican cuisine however they did not. Had no idea how they keep their food hot before serving but part of the beans and rice was hot , the other was not. We had 2 baskets of tortilla chips and salsa before we were even asked what we'll like to drink. The place is too small. Cheaply decorated interior. Overly exaggerated. Not worth another stop.
A family of 4: about $30 This small, side of the road Mexican joint is nothing if not quaint. Cleaner than I expected, the place has an addictive, casual atmosphere. The fish taco is fresh and healthy tasting (I assume). But if you order on the taco menu, I suggest getting at least 3 or 4 (they're fairly small). But the taco and burrito supremes are very filling. I highly recommend the $2 fish taco!
